    摘要: A wiper device includes a wiper member, a wiper cleaner, and an ink absorbing material. The wiper member wipes a nozzle opening surface of a recording head of a printer. The wiper cleaner always contacts the portion of the wiper member other than the distal end of the wiper member. The wiper cleaner scrapes off the ink adhered to the wiper member and absorbs the ink. The wiper cleaner guides the absorbed ink to the ink absorbing material. The ink absorbing material has an ink absorbability higher than that of an absorption body of the wiper cleaner. The wiper cleaner is thus prevented from becoming saturated with the ink.

    摘要: A nozzle protecting device 30 of an ink jet type recording apparatus has a cap 46 which covers nozzles of a recording head and a cap support member 47 which is connected to the cap 45 via a spring member 80. The distance between the cap 46 and the cap support member 47 can be changed by elastic deformation of the spring member 80. A vent hole 54 is formed in the cap 46. A valve seat 56 which covers the terminal portion of the vent hole 54 is provided. A valve body 58 is rotatably attached to the lower portion of the cap 46. The valve body 58 selectively abuts on and parts from the valve seat 56 in accordance with the distance between the cap 46 and the cap support member 47. As a result, the inside of the cap 46 is opened and closed to air via the vent hole 54.

    摘要: There is provided a flushing method for a fluid ejecting device that prevents clogging of a nozzle by ejecting a fluid of a set number of droplets at each set time interval in a fluid ejecting process from the nozzle of a fluid ejecting head toward a fluid receiving part that is disposed to face a nozzle opening face of the fluid ejecting head in a state of non-contacting the nozzle opening face. The flushing method includes applying an electric field between the nozzle opening face and the fluid receiving part, ejecting the fluid from the fluid ejecting head toward the fluid receiving part, detecting a voltage change based on electrostatic induction that occurs at a time when the fluid is ejected toward the fluid receiving part, and changing one between the set time interval and the set number of the droplets based on the voltage change.
