Abstract: A fiber optic network system comprises a trunk-to-node cabling assembly for connecting a trunk cable to at least 16 network nodes. The trunk-to-node cabling assembly consists of a trunk VSFF uniboot connector for terminating the trunk cable, a plurality of VSFF adapters and a plurality of cable assemblies terminated by VSFF connectors. The trunk-to-node cabling assembly is configured to connect the trunk cable to the at least 16 network nodes without any prefabricated shuffle component or mid span breakout component between the trunk cable and the at least 16 network nodes.

Abstract: An optoelectronic module and optoelectronic connector assemblies can be used for releasable connection of a laser source to the module from a location exterior to the module. The construction of the optoelectronic connector assemblies is such that both in connection and disconnection, the electrical contacts are broken before the optical contacts so that the laser may power down before the optical connection is broken. The optoelectronic connection assemblies have blind mating features. Some versions are free of any latching or mechanical interconnection of the optoelectronic connector assemblies to each other. A spring has a construction which permits it to be received onto a cable by lateral movement of the spring.

The VSFF fiber optic network systems can define fiber breakout cabling that connects large trunk cables to many peripheral network locations. The network systems can define branches and sub-branches from a trunk cable. The network systems can define cross-connect sub-networks between sets of transceivers or adapters. The network systems can define a trunk-to-transceiver cabling assembly for connecting a trunk cable to at least 32 transceiver ports.

Abstract: A bifurcated housing having opposing body portions that when mated stack one or more adapters. The stacked adapters may be different adapter types. A panel clip secures the bifurcated housing within a panel. The adapter types may be stacked vertical or horizontal depending on the panel configuration or network layout. The body portions form an outer housing with opposing sidewalls perpendicular to the outer housing. The sidewalls have a recess or securing clip that when the two body portions are mated, the one or more adapters stacked are secured therein.

Abstract: An adapter assembly with an adapter housing and a cross-bar. The cross-bar when depressed release one or more fiber optic connectors secured with the one or more adapter ports. The cross-bar is replaced with a return spring that secures a release tab with ribs on one side of the release tab body. Abstract: The present invention relates to the pluggable connection of an optoelectronic module with an optoelectronic connector assembly from a location exterior to the optoelectronic connector assembly.
