摘要: The present invention is directed to a method and apparatus for assisting in rating and filtering multimedia content, such as images, videos and sound recordings. One embodiment comprises a computer implemented method for rating the objectionability of specified digital content that comprises one or more discrete content items, wherein the method includes the step of moving the specified content to one or more filtering stages in a succession of filtering stages. After the specified content is moved to a given one of the filtering stages, a rating procedure is carried out to determine whether a rating can be applied to one or more of the content items, and if so, a selected rating is applied to each of the one or more content items. The method further comprises moving content items of the specified content to the next stage in the succession after the given stage, when at least one content item of the specified content remains without rating, after the rating procedure at the given stage. When none of the content items of the specified content remains without a rating after the rating procedure has been completed at the given stage, ratings that have been respectively applied to at least some of the content items are selectively processed, in order to determine an overall objectionability rating for the specified content.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention exploit the complementary and correlated information that is available across multiple channels of digital multimedia distribution, in order to ensure more efficient multimedia data access. One embodiment of the invention, directed to a method for generating a response to a specified request for information, is associated with multiple channels that are each adapted to carry and disseminate data content. The method comprises extracting data elements from each of the multiple channels, wherein each extracted data element pertains to one dimension of a plurality of correlation related dimensions. The method further comprises assigning each extracted data element to one of a plurality of correlation sets, wherein all the extracted data elements assigned to a particular set pertain to the same dimension, and each set is assigned data elements extracted from two or more different channels. Two or more of the correlation sets associated with the request are then selected, and the data content thereof is used to generate the response to the specified request.

摘要: A computer-implemented method is provided for performing key lookups. The method comprises accessing a header of a given one of a plurality of nodes in a tree-based data index structure. The given node comprises the header and a plurality of partitions. Each partition comprises at least one key. The header of the given node comprises a selected key from each of a selected plurality of the partitions. The method also comprises choosing, using a search key, a selected key in the header. The method further comprises accessing a partition corresponding to the chosen selected key and selecting, using the search key, one of the at least one keys in the accessed partition. The selected one of the at least one keys can be used to access another of the plurality of nodes. Yet additional methods, apparatus, and program products are disclosed.

摘要: Illustrative embodiments provide a computer-implemented method for hybrid push/pull of continuous structured query language queries. The computer-implemented method receives stream input, wherein the stream input comprises events of interest, builds and a state machine and stream plans, based on an original query, and replicates the stream input. Responsive to a push sub-query trigger, the computer-implemented method submits a pull sub-query to the database to produce a result, and sends the result to a requester.

摘要: A system and method, which registers and stores data and is responsive to queries through management of an inferencing-enabled metadata includes an intelligent database, which receives data or queries and manages data models. An ontology management system is associated with the intelligent database and receives and stores classes of information related to a data model therein to be employed in satisfying queries. A relational database is associated with the intelligent database and receives and stores attribute schema for instances of the class having at least one attribute value linked with the class in the ontology management system.

摘要: A method for accelerating range queries using periodic monotonic properties of non-monotonic functions including mapping a base column x to an existing index on a column y that is correlated with column x through a periodic piecewise monotonic function F(x), rewriting an index construction statement to force the existing index on column y to track a periodic piecewise monotonic property by assigning identical values of F(x) to different periods to different ranges to create an annotated index, and rewriting range queries over the annotated index on F(x) by modifying a derived predicate.

摘要: Providing consistency guarantees in a data stream processing engine is provided. Consistency tracking information is attached to data streams coming into the data stream processing engine. The consistency tracking information is propagated through a plurality of streaming operators that process the data streams within the data stream processing engine. Then, the propagated consistency tracking information is used to detect a consistent state in an output stream.
