Abstract: A universal mobile computing device mount comprises a body, a clamp arm, and an insertable electrical connector. The clamp arm is extendible from, and resiliently biased towards, the body, and is configured to engage an edge surface of a mobile computing device. The insertable electrical connector is pivotably mounted in the clamp arm. The electrical connector is pivotable relative to the clamp arm to promote angular alignment of the electrical connector with a complementary electrical receptacle in the edge surface of the mobile computing device during mounting of the mobile computing device into the universal mobile computing device mount.

Abstract: In one aspect, a cable hub includes a housing having a base and a wall. The base has an interior surface and an exterior surface. A plurality of cable ports is disposed in the wall. A mounting magnet is affixed to the interior surface of the base. The mounting magnet has a sufficient pull strength for magnetically mounting the cable hub to a ferromagnetic surface upon placement of the exterior surface of the base against the ferromagnetic surface. The cable hub may be a Universal Serial Bus (USB) hub. In another aspect, a kit includes the cable hub and at least one ferromagnetic plate. The ferromagnetic plate may be affixable to a surface using an adhesive material.

Abstract: A computing device and a device mount. The computing device includes a device casing having a front side and a back side and the device mount has a mount end formed with a mount face sized to fit within a recessed portion of the back side of the device casing in contact with a recessed face of the back side of the device casing. The computing device includes permanent magnets to secure the computing device to the mount face by magnetic coupling between with one or more corresponding magnets in the device mount. One of the recessed face or the mount face is formed from a thermoplastic resin and includes a plurality of raised portions. The raised portions project above the recessed face or the mount face, as the case may be, and have a thickness sufficiently small that the raised portions deform under contact between the mount face and the recessed face due to force of the magnetic coupling.
