    摘要: A resource manager for a satellite telecommunication system including user terminals sending data to spots via a satellite, all data streams from a given terminal to the same given destination spot constituting a virtual path comprising a set of uplinks from the terminal to the satellite and a set of downlinks from the satellite to the spot, includes a central entity associated with each satellite for receiving requests sent by the user terminals and each expressing a requirement to use resources of the satellite corresponding to the virtual path. The central entity groups the requests into request groups each associated with a set of uplinks from the same spot to the destination spot, the set of uplinks constituting a virtual link, and determines authorized resources for each request group.

    摘要: The invention concerns a method of transmitting non-dated digital data between a transmitter and a receiver in which the data can take at least two different paths between the transmitter and the receiver and handover from one path to another occurs during transmission. In the transmitter, packets intended for the second path are transmitted only after the last packet intended for the first path has been transmitted and in the transmitter and in the receiver packets on the first or second path are delayed in order for packets on the second path to arrive after packets on the first path. It is therefore not necessary to transmit signaling to differentiate the two paths at the receiver, which can include a single demodulator.

One destination or at most a limited number of destinations (72) is assigned a group representative function. That destination periodically sends a presence signal (62) to the control unit (54). The method can be used in a satellite telecommunications system. It requires less signaling than the IGMP.

    摘要: A device (D) is dedicated to processsing data frames for satellite terminals (ST) of a satellite communication network, connected to at least one logical bus (B) defined on a satellite connection. The device (D) comprises processing means (MT) adapted, on receiving packets of a data frame from a first communication equipment (UE11), connected to a first satellite terminal (ST1) coupled to said device (D), and addressed to a second communication equipment (UE2), connected to a second satellite terminal (ST2), to encapsulate each packet received in a level 2 transmisstion protocol header (of the ISO layered model) comprising at least the identifier of the bus to which the second satellite terminal (ST2) is connected and the communication identifier of the first satellite terminal (ST1), before it is transmitted to the satellite (SAT), via the connection.
