Abstract: The invention relates to a winding machine (1) with a winding machine fixing mechanism (44) for fixing a winding sleeve (4) on a winding spindle (3). The winding machine fixing mechanism (44) can be actuated by use of a motion control. By this motion-controlled actuation, the winding machine fixing mechanism (44) can be transferred from the release position into a fixing position and/or from a fixing position into a release position. During the motion control, a catch (5) is entrained by the movement of the winding sleeve (4). This catch then causes the actuation of the winding machine fixing mechanism (44).
