Molten Aluminum and its Alloys are generally subjected to Degassing and Grain Refining before casting.Degassing is carried out to reduce the Hydrogen gas content. On-line Degassing is among the popular practice and is carried out with the help of equipment like SNIF, LARS etc.Grain refining is carried out for improving the micro-structure of the cast product. It involves addition of grain refiner in to the melt prior to or during the casting.Utility Patent applied vide this non-provisional patent application envisages addition of powder/s of Degasser(Hexa-chloro Ethane), as a substitute for Chlorine and/or Grain refiner; into the purging gas of an On-line Degassing system; thus accomplishing degassing and/or grain refining in one single stage with improved efficacy of respective treatments, better working conditions and lower processing cost.This invention can be adopted in any existing as well as new On-line Degassing systems.

Internal Combustion (IC) Engines and Gas Turbines are the machines built to convert the chemical energy of fuel into mechanical energy via an exothermic reaction, known as Combustion or rapid oxidation. The combustion involves reaction of constituents of fuel with Oxygen.As on date, atmospheric air is considered as techno-economically the best source of Oxygen. However, Oxygen is only a small fraction of the air and thus bulk of the air is a burden on the energy conversion process with consequential loss of operating efficiency of the respective equipment.This Invention entails improvement in operating efficiency of IC Engines and Gas Turbines on enhancing the oxygen contents or Oxygen enrichment of the air supplied to the respective equipment for combustion of the fuel.This enhancement of Oxygen content or Oxygen enrichment of combustion air is accomplished by addition of Oxygen obtained from an Oxygen Generator. Further, this generator is envisaged to be working concurrently with the IC Engine/Gas Turbine and thus providing the oxygen necessary for the enhancement/enrichment on a concurrent basis.This invention is relevant to all types of Internal Combustion Engines and Gas Turbines irrespective of the basic design, capacity, type of fuel or any mixture of fuels used, or the purpose to which the equipment is deployed and is expected to improve the efficiency of respective equipments with consequent reduction in their operating cost and environmental pollution.

Sodium Bi-carbonate, more commonly known as Baking Soda, is a chemical often used in killing odor or foul smell emanating from food kept in refrigerators and cooling cabinets and also as a preservative to extend the shelf life of food items. Invention titled “Active Scrub with Baking Soda for Fridge Freshening and Food Preservation” exploits these applications. This invention comprises—a process to scrub the environmental air contained inside the cooling chamber of refrigerators, freezers and cooling cabinets etc; with Baking Soda, using air ballast of the cold air circulation system of respective equipment; and—an attachment to accomplish this process. Such scrubbing facilitates chemical reaction of baking soda with the acidic contents of environmental air and the resultant change in pH in turn helps in killing the odor and extending the shelf-life of contents/food items stored there-in.

A few among these, are its use in killing odor or foul smell emanating from food kept in refrigerators and/or closed compartments and also as a preservative to extend the shelf life of food items. The invention titled Fridge Freshener and Food Saver (3FS) is about a gadget to sprinkle/disperse the baking soda in the environment where-in it is intended to be applied viz. refrigerators, freezers and cooling cabinets etc; there by facilitating its chemical reaction with the inside air and the resultant change in pH in turn helping in killing the odor and extending the shelf life of contents/food items stored there-in.
