摘要： A transmitting/receiving apparatus and method in a mobile communication system are provided. In a transmitter, an encoder encodes input information data and outputs systematic bits on a first channel and redundancy bits on a second channel. A first channel interleaver interleaves the systematic bits and a second channel interleaver interleaves the redundancy bits. A modulator maps one channel data of I and Q channel data, received from the first channel interleaver and another channel data of the I and Q channel data, received from the second channel interleaver to a modulation symbol using different mapping rules for I and Q channels.

摘要： A subcarrier assignment apparatus and a subcarrier assignment method, in which each of a plurality of Base Stations (BSs) constituting an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) communication system provides services in the capacity of a serving BS to Mobile Stations (MSs). Channel quality information for the respective MSs are fed-back from the respective BSs. Subcarriers are assigned to the respective MSs according to a corresponding scheduling scheme in consideration of the channel quality information for the respective MSs, which are fed-back from the respective BSs, and then BSs which manage the subcarriers assigned to the respective MSs according to the corresponding scheduling scheme are selected. These operations provide site diversity to each of the MSs, and thus system capacity is maximized.

摘要： A cell search apparatus and method in an OFDM mobile communication system are provided. In the cell search apparatus, a symbol synchronization acquirer acquires OFDM symbol synchronization by performing CP correlation for a plurality of OFDM symbol intervals. A frame cell synchronization acquirer sorts received OFDM symbols according to the acquired OFDM symbol synchronization, and acquires frame cell synchronization by performing preamble correlation for a plurality of frame cell intervals. A pilot pattern detector sorts received frame cells according to the acquired frame cell synchronization, and detects a pilot pattern for identifying a base station by monitoring a plurality of frame cells.

The method including producing a pilot symbol sequence corresponding to a predetermined time interval by removing a data symbol sequence from time domain signal to be transmitted, the time domain signal including the data symbol sequence and the pilot symbol sequence; and modulating the pilot symbol sequence so that a part of the time domain signal corresponding to a predetermined number of pilot symbols in the pilot symbol sequence has a predetermined pattern.

摘要： An apparatus and method for changing a signal mapping rule in an hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) system are provided. In a transmitter in an automatic repeat request (ARQ) system according to the present invention, a memory stores different signal constellations for a predetermined modulation scheme according to retransmission numbers (k). A modulator reads a signal constellation according to a current retransmission number from the memory, upon receipt of a retransmission request signal from a receiver, and modulates transmission data to complex symbols on the signal constellation.

摘要： An apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving a multi-functional preamble signal in a wireless communication system are provided. In an apparatus for transmitting a preamble signal in a wireless communication system, a first generator generates a predetermined ZAC sequence. A circular shifter circular-shifts the ZAC sequence according to a BS ID. A second generator generates a sequence in which samples of the ZAC sequence alternate with samples of the circular-shifted sequence. A repeater generates a baseband preamble signal by repeating the sequence received from the second generator.

摘要： An apparatus and method for controlling power in a multi-hop relay broadband wireless communication system are provided. A BS sends a signal to an RS and an MS to estimate distances between the BS, the RS and the MS. Upon receipt of signals from the RS and the MS, the BS measures ToAs of the received signals and detects time information included in the received signals, and calculates propagation delays between the BS, the RS and the MS based on the ToAs and the time information. The BS estimates the distances between the BS, the RS and the MS using the propagation delays, and controls transmission power according to the estimated distances.
