Abstract: A roll support and adjustment mechanism for a wire or felt guide roll in a paper making machine has a linkage supporting a bearing at one end of the roll and pneumatic bellows for adjustably displacing the bearing. The linkage comprises a pair of links each pivotably connected to a support frame and to the free ends of the arms of an inverted Y-shaped bearing pedestal. The link pivot axes may be spatially related to ensure substantially linear displacement of the bearing.
