摘要: A catheter having a tubular body including a lumen communicating from a proximal end to a distal end and in which a braided reinforcement body is embedded, and an operation unit disposed on a proximal side of the tubular body. The reinforcement body includes a plurality of first wire filaments helically wound in a first direction of a circumferential direction, toward a distal end direction of the tubular body, and a plurality of second wire filaments intersecting with the first wire filaments and helically wound in a second direction, which is a direction opposite to the first direction. At least one of the first wire filaments is a thick wire filament having a cross section larger than a cross section of a largest second wire filament.

摘要: A method for determining that a balloon for a medical catheter is defective, includes, in a machining process of elongating a balloon base material with an elongation mechanism while applying pressure therein and heat thereto, monitoring a pressure value of the pressure and monitoring a movement amount of the mechanism or a time elapsed after a start of the process, detecting a start of expansion of the material based on the value, calculating: an elongation amount of the material immediately before the start of expansion based on the movement amount of the mechanism, or an elongation time from the start of the process to the start of expansion of the material based on the elapsed time, determining a pressure resistance of a balloon formed from the material based on the elongation amount or elongation time, and determining whether the balloon is defective based on the pressure resistance thereof.

摘要: A medical elongated body including a catheter main body. The catheter main body has a tubular body and a lumen. The tubular body includes a guide wire lumen into which a guide wire is insertable. The tubular body also a distal member positioned at the distal portion of the tubular body. The distal member has a lumen that communicates with the guide wire lumen. The inner diameter of the distal member decreases between the proximal end and a distal end opening of the distal member. The medical elongated body also includes a visible marker that extends circumferentially on the outer surface of the distal member to indicate a position of the distal member in the axial direction corresponding to a predetermined inner diameter of the distal member. The visible marker is visible before the medical elongated body is inserted into a living body.

摘要: A catheter is configured to reduce a possibility that a shaft of a catheter inserted into a body comes off from a hub on a proximal side when a contrast agent is injected at a high pressure and the shaft is pulled out. The catheter includes a shaft and a hub that are directly fusion-bonded at a shaft accommodation portion of the hub that accommodates a proximal end of the shaft and a vicinity of the proximal end and a minimum inner diameter of the shaft accommodation portion is at any portion of the fusion surface. The shaft is thus prevented from coming off from the hub, safety of a worker is achieved without using an adhesive, a yield is further improved, and a manufacturing cost and a cost required for ensuring safety are reduced.

摘要: A torque device that has good manual operability and rather easily attaches to an elongated body such as a guide wire. A torque device for holding an elongated body comprises a first member and a second member in which is formed a connected space through which the elongated body can be inserted in the length direction. The first member and the second member are able to rotate with each other in a state in which the elongated body is being held, and have an opening that allows the space to communicate with the outside in the radial direction. At least one of the first member and the second member has a diameter decreasing portion that reduces the diameter of the space as a result of the first member and the second member rotating with each another.
