    Abstract: Improved oil recovery from an oil-bearing reservoir is obtained by a combination of solution gas drive and water flooding whereby the reservoir is produced by solution gas drive until the pressure of the reservoir is reduced below the bubble point pressure and a critical gas saturation is established, and thereafter the reservoir is produced by a water flood until the rate of oil production reaches a predetermined value or termination point, whereafter the cycle is repeated.

    Abstract: A gas chromatograph which divides the effluent stream from its column into two portions. One portion is for obtaining a conventional record with peaks which indicate the various compounds in the effluent of the colunn. The other portion of the divided effluent is directed through a nozzle and against a strip, that may be coated, for retaining the effluent while the strip is moved in synchronism with the conventional record. The strip may be matched against the record afterward so that individual peaks may be identified by direct analysis of the trapped effluent on the strip.
