Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for treatment of various airborne or surface-associated contaminants in which UV aerosol technology is combined with the use of hydrogen peroxide vapor or aerosol to create potent airborne concentrations of reactive oxygen-containing radicals that react with the airborne or surface-associated contaminants to inactivate, disinfect, oxidize, rearrange, ablate and/or otherwise treat these materials and thereby achieve disinfection of indoor air and/or surfaces. This technology is referred to herein as peroxide-enhanced germicidal irradiation (PEGI).
