Abstract: An applicator for the deposition of sealant onto a surface of a workpiece is disclosed having at least one inlet for depositing sealant on to a surface or a nozzle-receiving space for receiving a nozzle comprising at least one inlet for depositing sealant on to a surface; at least one sealant-contacting surface for contacting sealant deposited onto the surface through the inlet as the applicator is moved across the surface, thereby forming a film of sealant on said surface; at least one spacer for contacting a surface onto which sealant is to be deposited and for maintaining the sealant-contacting surface in spaced relationship with the surface; and at least one inlet reservoir for receiving sealant from at least one inlet, the inlet reservoir being configured to provide a covered space when the applicator is in contact with a surface onto which sealant is to be deposited.

Abstract: A spool tension system is disclosed for a spooled multi-line elongate carrier connected between a ground vehicle and a spooling apparatus, in order to connect the ground vehicle to services. A terminal of the ground vehicle is coupled to one end of the elongate carrier via a sensing arrangement which is arranged to provide a signal indicating tension at the end of the elongate carrier. The spooling apparatus is arranged to spool the elongate carrier in response to the signal, such that the tension in the elongate carrier is regulated during movement of the ground vehicle.

Abstract: A mobile robot for interacting with a workpiece is disclosed as the mobile robot transports across the ground relative to the workpiece. The mobile robot includes a tracker for tracking the workpiece; an end effector for interacting with the workpiece based on feedback from the tracker; and a control system. The control system is configured such that when the mobile robot is transporting in a transporting direction across the ground relative to the workpiece such that the tracker is tracking a first region of the workpiece, the control system causes the mobile robot to adjust according to the feedback from the tracker and effect a position of the end effector when interacting the end effector with the second region of the workpiece.

Abstract: A spooling apparatus is disclosed being arranged to provide one or more services to a remote ground vehicle in a maintenance facility via a multi-line elongate carrier. The spooling apparatus includes a base for receiving services to be provided to the remote ground vehicle through the elongate carrier, and a turntable mounted on the base and arranged to rotate with respect to the base. A spooling drum which houses the elongate carrier is mounted on the turntable and is free to rotate so that as the vehicle moves within the maintenance facility the elongate carrier remains oriented towards the remote ground vehicle.
