Abstract: A moire occurrence prediction means that predicts a region in which moire will occur and implements a moire suppression process only on a pattern including said region, thereby minimizing print deterioration, suppressing the occurrence of moire, and enabling high quality printing. The moire occurrence prediction means includes a communication unit for receiving an input image; a periodic structure inclusion determination unit for determining, in the input image; a periodic structure region that includes a periodic structure that induces occurrence of a moire; and a moire prediction unit for determining a risk of moire occurrence in each periodic structure region by performing a predetermined frequency analysis process with respect to each of the determined periodic structure regions, generating a moire occurrence notification that indicates the risk for each periodic structure region, and outputting the moire occurrence notification.
