    Abstract: The present invention aims at providing a cam clutch that realizes a reduction in production cost, improves productivity and assemblability, and increases the degree of design freedom. The cam clutch includes: an inner race and an outer race that are coaxial and rotatable relative to each other; a plurality of cams circumferentially arranged between the inner race and the outer race; and positioning members that keep each two adjacent cams at fixed positions relative to each other. The positioning members are configured to link each two adjacent cams such as to be tiltable independently of each other.

    Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a cam and a one-way cam clutch that realize a reduction in weight and production cost, provide more design freedom in setting the center of gravity of the cam, and achieve high responsiveness. The above object is achieved by a cam configured to make contact with an inner race and an outer race by a rotational moment applied in an engaged direction by an annular spring, in which a plurality of cam plates having an identical outer contour and arranged in parallel along a direction of the pivot axis are coupled together and united by a connecting pin extending in the direction of the pivot axis, and the annular spring is configured to be mountable between adjacent cam plates and/or on an outer side of the plurality of cam plates in the direction of the pivot axis.

The biasing means for biasing the cams to contact the inner race and outer race is formed by a ribbon spring, with a base part shaped into a ring and having cam-receiving portions and cam-biasing portions. The ribbon spring has an end structure configured to allow both ends of the base part to push each other in a circumferential direction. The end structure is configured to include a contact portion that extends in a radial direction and makes surface-contact with any of the inner race, the outer race, and the cage ring that holds the cams.

    Abstract: A selectable clutch that enables an improvement in the performance of maintaining orientations of cams, and allows simplification of the structure of biasing mechanism, as well as reduction of the thrust required for the switching of operating modes is provided. The selectable clutch includes a plurality of cams circumferentially held by a cage ring between an inner race and an outer race, and biased in an engaging direction by a biasing mechanism. The cams are each configured to have the center of gravity located such that each of the cams functions as an engaging type cam when oriented in engagement with the inner race and the outer race, and such that each of the cams functions as a disengaging type cam in a tilted freewheel orientation not to contact with the inner race or the outer race.
