摘要： A developing device using a trickle system is realized which includes developer discharging means for (i) suppressing changes in discharge of developer due to inclinations of the developing device and (ii) maintaining the stability in amount of the developer in a developer tank. In the developing device, the developer tank includes agitating chambers parted by a partition, and each of the agitating chambers has an agitating screw. Further, discharging openings for discharging an excess of the developer in the developer tank are provided downstream in transport directions of the agitating screws, respectively.

摘要： The development device of the present invention has a rotating shutter supported rotatably between a supply opening formed on a toner supply device and a receiving opening formed on a developing tank. The rotating shutter has an open section extending in the axial direction of the roller-shaped main section as well as opened in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction thereof, opening and shutting the supply opening in conjunction with attachment and detachment operation of the developing tank. The rotating shutter shuts the supply opening by covering the supply opening with the outer surface of the roller-shaped main section, and opens the supply opening by communicating the supply opening and the receiving opening through the open section. Thus, it is possible to prevent the leakage of toner even after repetitively performing the attachment and detachment operation of the developing tank.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes: a toner cartridge supporting member which is movable between (i) an insertion position indicating that the toner cartridge is in the predetermined position and (ii) a draw-out position indicating that the toner cartridge is drawn out from the predetermined position; a detection device which detects a movement of the toner cartridge supporting member in a direction pointing from the insertion position toward the draw-out position; an information storage device which is provided in the toner cartridge; a connector which is provided so as to be detached from or fitted to the information storage device so as to be movable in a moving direction of the toner cartridge supporting member; and an information processing device which is capable of communicating with the information storage device via the connector and which carries out a communication stop process for causing a communication between the information processing device and the information storage device to be stopped when the detection device detects the movement of the toner cartridge supporting member. This prevents a communication error from occurring in the communication between the information storage device on the toner cartridge side and the information processing device on the image forming apparatus side when the toner cartridge is suddenly drawn out from the image forming apparatus.

摘要： A developing device includes: a developing tank for storing a developer containing a toner and a magnetic carrier, the developing tank including, inside thereof, a first developer carrying path; and a first stirring carrying member that rotates so that the first stirring carrying member carries the developer included in the first developer carrying path while stirring the developer. A toner supply opening is formed in a developing tank cover. An upper part of an inner wall surface of a side in which a developer sinks which inner wall surface faces downward rotation of the first stirring carrying member inclines from a direction perpendicular to a horizontal surface toward the first developer carrying path. An angle α made by (i) a tangential line of the upper inner wall surface at a position of the upper inner wall surface which position is at a height of a top part of an outer circumference of the first stirring carrying member and (ii) a horizontal line is not less than 100° but not more than 150°. This makes it possible to properly stir a supplied toner with an existing developer without applying excessive stress on the developer.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a toner cartridge supporting member which is movable between an insertion position and a draw-out position. An information storage device is provided on a toner cartridge that is mounted on the toner cartridge supporting member. A connector that is configured to engage the information storage device is provided on the image forming apparatus. The connector is movable in a moving direction of the toner cartridge supporting member. When a toner cartridge on the toner cartridge supporting member moves toward the draw-out position, the connector moves with and remains engaged with the information storage device for part of the movement so that information can be read from or written to the information storage device before the toner cartridge arrives at the draw-out position.

摘要： An anti-accumulation section is provided at a section where an inner surface of a developer container abuts a surface of a doctor blade on an upstream side of a rotation direction of a developing roller. An angle between a surface of the anti-accumulation section facing the developing roller and the surface of the doctor blade on the upstream side of the rotation direction of the developing roller is set to be larger than an angle between a circle concentric with a cross section of the developing roller perpendicular to an extending direction of the developing roller and the surface of the doctor blade on the upstream side of the rotation direction of the developing roller at the section where the surface of the anti-accumulation section facing the developing roller and the surface of the doctor blade on the upstream side of the rotation direction of the developing roller abut. This realizes, with a simple configuration, a developing device capable of forming images of high quality without nonuniform development.

摘要： The developing apparatus includes a developing container in which a developer containing a toner and a carrier is stored, a developing roller which carries the developer, and agitating transporting members which circulate and transport the developer along a rotary axis line of a developing roller while mixing and agitating the developer. The developer container includes a developing zone portion corresponding to the developing roller and an extended zone portion which is provided adjacent to the developing zone portion in an axial direction of the developing roller. The developer container is provided with a developer blocking member which separates the developing zone portion and the extended zone portion. The developer container is provided with valves which open in a developer transporting direction in a communicating portion of the developer blocking member between the developing zone portion and the extended zone portion.
