摘要： A connector includes a plurality of contacts each having a contact portion adapted to contact a first connecting object, a fixed portion to be fixed to a housing, a connection portion to be connected to a second connecting object; and the housing having inserting holes for arranging and holding the contacts therein, and a fitting opening for receiving the first connecting object. The housing is provided on the side of the fitting opening with recesses which are continuous with the inserting holes, respectively, and opening into the fitting direction of the connector, and tips of the contact portions of the contacts are positioned in the recesses, respectively, even in the state that the first connecting object has not been fitted in the connector. The recesses are respectively independent from one another corresponding to the contacts. The connector thus constructed is simple in construction and easily manufactured and achieves a stable electrical connection by ensuring sufficient displacements of the contacts without buckling and deformation of the contacts, thereby preventing any defective or failed connection.

摘要： A fixture for a floating connector is to be mounted on a substrate and has at one end a connection portion to be connected to the substrate. The two fixtures are used in the floating connector including a plurality of contacts, an insulator fixing the contacts therein and having flanges, and a housing covering the insulator and fixing the contacts therein. The fixtures each include at the other end an anchoring bent piece adapted to engage the flange of the insulator to prevent the insulator from floating upwardly to an excessive extent. The floating connector using the fixtures is able to completely prevent the contacts from being buckled or deformed to an excessive extent when the floating connector is being fitted with or removed from a mating connector.

An insulator is supported only by plug contacts each provided between second and third fixed portions with an elastic portion having at least one snaked portion so as to be floating in a housing. The shape of the second contact portion of each of the plug contacts is substantially in the form of a plate-shaped piece so that the second contact portion of the plug contact and the first contact portion of a receptacle contact are caused to contact each other in line contact at one location, and the elastic portion is arranged within a range from a position below the second contact portion to a position below the insulator. The electrical connector thus constructed is superior in resistance to vibration, and achieves space-saving and floating of the insulator.

An insulator is supported only by plug contacts each having an elastic portion between second and third fixed portions so as to be floating in a housing. The elastic portion is so positioned that its upper curved portion is at the same height as a second contact portion and its lower curved portion is at the same height as the lower end of the insulator. The distal end of a first contact portion of a receptacle contact is folded back toward a first connection portion to provide a third contact to contact the elastic portion so that the first contact portion and the third contact portion of the receptacle contact and the second contact portion and the elastic portion of the plug contact are caused to contact each other in line contacts at two locations. The electrical connector thus constructed is superior in resistance to vibration, and achieves space-saving and a reduced overall height less than 5 mm and further the floating of the insulator.

摘要： A connector includes a required number of contacts, a housing, and a pivoting member. The contacts are substantially H-shaped and each includes at least a contact portion, a connection portion, a fulcrum portion, a connecting portion and a pressure receiving portion. The urging portions of the pivoting member are pivotally moved between the connection portions and the pressure receiving portions to bring the contact portions of the contacts into contact with a connecting object. The housing has a ceiling portion covering the contact portions of the contacts, and an upper wall covering the pressure receiving portions. The pivoting member includes an actuating portion, the urging portions, anchoring holes, and a cover portion for covering tail portions of the contacts upon pivotal movement of the pivoting member. The connecting object can be inserted into the connector with a slight force and dust proofing property can be improved.
