    摘要: In a method of recognizing an irradiation field, sample image signals at a picture element string extending from an edge of a recording region towards the center thereof are extracted from image signals detected from a recording medium. Changes among image density levels represented by the sample image signals are expressed by an approximate equation, and differences between imaginary density levels calculated by the approximate equation and actual density levels are calculated to find an edge of the irradiation field. Or, intersections of lines represented by approximate equations for picture element groups and a density change curve in a range higher than a predetermined density and represented by the sample image signals are detected, and the intersection nearest to the edge of the recording region is recognized as the edge of the irradiation field. Image processing conditions are adjusted based on the image signals inside of the recognized irradiation field.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for image processing on a radiation image which may be a conventional radiographic image on X-ray film or a radiation image which is stored in a stimulable phosphor and read out therefrom. The radiation image is scanned by a light beam or stimulating rays and an image signal is obtained by use of a photodetector. The image signal is subjected to a frequency processing by use of an unsharp masking process. The unsharp mask signal (Sus) is used for conducting an operation ofSorg+.beta.(Sorg-Sus)to obtain an image-processed signal S, wherein Sorg is a digital signal for each picture element of the scanned image and .beta. is a frequency emphasizing coefficient. The median of a group of digital signals in an unsharp mask of a predetermined size is employed.

    摘要: In a radiation image read-out method using a stimulable phosphor sheet, read-out conditions in final read-out are adjusted based on preliminary read-out image information on a region recognized as an irradiation field. To recognize the irradiation field, sample image signals are extracted from preliminary read-out image signals at a picture element string extending from an end towards the center of the stimulable phosphor sheet. Changes between image density levels represented by the sample image signals are expressed by an approximate equation, and differences between imaginary image density levels calculated by the approximate equation and the actual image density levels are calculated. Or, the image density changes are expressed by approximate equations for picture element groups, and differences between imaginary image density levels calculated by the approximate equations in each picture element group are calculated. Or, intersections of lines represented by the approximate equations and an image density change curve higher than a predetermined density level and represented by the sample image signals are detected, and the intersection nearest to the sheet end is recognized as an edge of the irradiation field.

    摘要: A radiation image recording and read-out apparatus is provided with a body comprising a system for conveying stimulable phosphor sheets for recording radiation images along a path, and an image recording section and an image read-out section which are positioned on the path. The apparatus body is provided with a section positioned at the upstream end of the path for feeding the stimulable phosphor sheets to the sheet conveying system, and a section positioned at the downstream end of the path for ejecting the stimulable phosphor sheets from the sheet conveying system. Or, the apparatus body is connected by conveyor belts with an erasing unit for erasing radiation energy remaining in the stimulable phosphor sheets after image read-out. The apparatus body and the erasing unit are positioned independently of each other in spaced relation by a predetermined distance.

    摘要: A method of and apparatus for processing a radiographic image in a radiographic image copying system in which an original radiograph scanned with the light beam and the image information of the radiograph is read out by a detector which gives an output to be processed and used for reproducing an image on a recording material. In the processing of the detected output, an operation represented by a formulaD'=Dorg+.beta.(Dorg-Dus)is conducted, where Dorg is the original image density detected by the detector, .beta. is an emphasis coefficient, and Dus is an unsharp mask density corresponding to a super-low spatial frequency at every scanning point. The unsharp masking process may be performed together with a gradation process, reduction of image size, smoothing process and the like. Further, the emphasis coefficient may be varied with either the original image density Dorg or the unsharp mask signal Dus.

    摘要: A radiation image read-out method comprises the steps of exposing a stimulable phosphor sheet, on which a radiation image having a background region has been stored, to stimulating rays which cause the stimulable phosphor sheet to emit light in proportion to the amount of energy stored thereon during its exposure to radiation, and detecting the emitted light in order to obtain an image signal representing the radiation image. The shape and location of the background region are determined in advance, and only the area outside of the background region on the stimulable phosphor sheet is exposed to stimulating rays. Light emitted from the area outside of the background region is detected and converted into an image signal. Alternatively, after the shape and location of the background region are determined, the background region is erased. Thereafter, the stimulable phosphor sheet is exposed to stimulating rays, and light emitted by the stimulable phosphor sheet is detected and converted into an image signal.

A fluoroscopic device is provided for receiving the radiation passing through the object at the time the recording and read-out unit is present at its second position, and converting the radiation into signals for a visible image.

The recording and read-out unit is provided with a case having a size nearly equal to a single image recording area on the stimulable phosphor sheet, an image recording section, an image read-out section provided in the case for reading the radiation image from the stimulable phosphor sheet by exposure to stimulating rays, and an erasing section provided in the case.
