摘要: An air bag system for protecting a passenger seated on the front passenger seat of a vehicle. In an initial stage, the air bag is inflated mildly. In the subsequent stage, the bag is inflated also mildly. The directivity of produced gas can be reduced. The air bag can be inflated mildly while maintaining a large area. The air bag system comprises an air bag case having an opening on its top side, an inflator disposed inside the air bag case, the aforementioned air bag folded in the air bag case, and a diffuser mounted between the inflator and the opening in the case. The air bag is placed in a side-by-side relation to the inflator and located behind the inflator inside the case. The diffuser is provided with numerous holes for supplying the gas. The diffuser acts to regulate flow of the gas from the inflator. At least when the gas is produced from the inflator, a space is created between the outer surface of the inflator and the diffuser.

摘要: The invention relates to a side air bag device embedded in a seat side which splits open a stitching part 26 of a seat covering material 20 by means of deployment pressure of an air bag 14 and deploys the air bag 14. In this device, a band 28 for concentrating deployment pressure of the air bag 14 on deployment of the air bag 14 is disposed, and a start to the stitching part 26 splitting open is made by means of this band 28. As a result, the stitching part 26 can be split open rapidly. Also, in the device, a seat pad 72 was interposed between an air bag case 16 and the seat covering material 20. As a result, the softness and feeling of the seat feel is not lost.

摘要: In an airbag device (10) wherein within a casing (12) opening upwardly an inflator (16) and an airbag (14) are housed at its bottom part and the opening side, respectively, a cylindrical diffuser (18) surrounding the outer circumference of the inflator (16) is provided, which has a partition wall (40) projecting toward the opening side of the casing and partitioning an airbag-housing space into a forward side and a rearward side relative to the vehicle, in which to house the airbag (14) dividedly, and a lip portion (32) of the airbag (14) is superposed downwards of the diffuser (18) thereby to lock the bottom part of the diffuser (18) to the bottom surface of the casing (12). Thus, it is easy, albeit compart, to control the deployment behavior of the airbag and excellent in workability of assembling the airbag in the casing.

摘要: In an airbag having a generally quadrilateral pyramidal body fallen sideways, cloths 21 and 22 for side face portions having a generally triangular shape constituting side face portions 20 of the pyramidal body, are extended from both side edge portions of an upper face portion 16 and a lower face portion 18 of the pyramidal body, opposed side edge portions 21a and 21a of the respective cloths 21 and 22 for the side face portions are sewed together, and both side edge portions 14a of a frontal portion 14 and respective side edge portions 21b and 22b of the cloths 21 and 22 for side face portions are sewed together, both the seam portions 24 in a lateral direction and the seam portions 26 in a vertical direction constituting a T-like shape fallen sideways formed at side face portions 20, are formed in a circular arc shape bent outwardly. Thereby, balance of extensions of the seam portions and other cloth portions of the airbag is achieved by which the airbag having a predetermined extended shape can easily be fabricated and further, stresses applied on intersections 28 of the seam portions 24 and the seam portions 26 can be alleviated.

摘要: A side air bag expands near a window at a time of collision of a vehicle to restrain an occupant from moving in a lateral direction. The air bag has an expansion duration protracted which is extended to constrain the occupant during overturning of the vehicle. Stowability for stowing the air bag in a folded state in a side structure of the vehicle, such as a pillar and a roof side rail portion, is enhanced in that two woven fabrics are connected along an outer peripheral portion, to form a bag portion, by a textile structure woven using a common yarn include in of both fabrics fabric sheets forming opposing sides of the air bag. A whole of the bag portion is coated and sealed by an air non-permeable impermeable coating material to improve air tightness. A mounting portion for mounting the air bag in the side structure, such as a pillar or a roof side rail, is integrally formed by extending the woven fabrics or the common-yarn textile structure portion outward from the outer peripheral connection portion, thereby improving stowability.

摘要: A side air bag expands near a window at a time of collision of a vehicle to restrain an occupant from moving in a lateral direction.
