摘要: A method and control node for managing cloud resources in a communications network for a client being served by a primary data center holding service data associated with a cloud service being executed for the client in the primary data center. A first backup data center having free processing and storage resources for the cloud service, is selected based on usage of links between a source node associated with the client and the first backup data center. The service data is then saved in the first backup data center, thereby enabling the cloud service to be recovered in the first backup data center. If the usage of links in potential communication paths between the source node and the first backup data center exceeds a link usage threshold, the saved service data may be transferred from the first backup data center to a second backup data center.

摘要: A network architecture for an optical communication network, an optical communication network configured according to the network architecture and a method for interconnecting via a MD-WSS are provided. The network comprises at least a first ODN, an MD-WSS having a plurality of ports, and at least a first node. The first ODN is connected to one of the ports of the MD-WSS and the first node is connected to another one of the ports of the MD-WSS, wherein the ports of the MD-WSS 100 are paired such that the port connected to the first ODN is paired with the port connected to the first node such that signals originating from the first ODN are in a default case routed to the first node, and signals originating from the first node are in the default case routed to the first ODN.

摘要: A method and device manager for controlling program components in a network device, wherein the network device is used for handling data traffic in a communication network. First, the device manager identifies, out of a set of predefined policies, a policy comprising rules which determine how the network device should operate when handling data traffic. Then, program components required to fulfil the identified policy are identified and existing program components present in the network device are determined. The device manager further pushes any of the required program components being absent in said existing program components, to the network device. Thereby, any network device(s) can be configured and/or upgraded automatically according to appropriate predefined policies, requiring a minimum of manual work. The predefined policies can also easily be modified or extended to deploy new and/or upgraded functions.

摘要: Embodiments of the disclosure provide methods, apparatus and computer programs for allocating traffic in a telecommunications network comprising a plurality of nodes, with pairs of nodes being connected by respective links. A method comprises obtaining a plurality of demands for connectivity between respective first nodes and respective second nodes of the telecommunications network, each demand being subject to a respective constraint associated with the connectivity between the respective first node and the respective second node; for each demand, generating a list of possible paths between the first node and the second node satisfying the constraint; based on the list of possible paths for each demand and an indication of traffic usage for each demand, determining, for each demand, weights in respect of each of the possible paths; and providing the weights to nodes of the telecommunications network, for the distribution of traffic associated with each of the plurality of demands to the possible paths in accordance with the respective weights.
