Abstract: A gatebox for an aircraft comprises a hopper configured to contain a solid material or a liquid material in the gatebox, an opening within the hopper configured to allow a solid material in the hopper to be discharged from the gatebox, and a door mechanism with a door that is configured to operate in a first mode to release the solid material from the opening and a second mode to prevent the liquid material from escaping through the opening, wherein the door mechanism is configured to move the door linearly when operating in the first mode.
