    摘要: An infustion pump fluid source cartridge having a pump interface portion and a fluid source portion. The top edge of the cartridge is bevelled in the fluid source portion to permit bending of the fluid source portion to securely position the pump interface portion against the pump without distorting the pump interface portion. A pump tube mount is provided for insertion into such cartridge. The pump tube mount includes a uniquely shaped front wall and a rear wall which extends downward in order to butt up against a ledge. Tabs extend from the rear wall in order to snap into an opening beneath the ledge. A compressible tube is mounted in the tube mount by providing a cylindrical fitting having an indentation. The tube may be held in the indentation by a collar surrounding the tube in alignment with the indentation.

    摘要: The invention provides improved intraocular lens structures for surgical placement in the eye, the unique structures comprise an optical zone portion substantially centrally disposed with an integral outer haptic portion. In one embodied form, the haptic portion is composed of materials having relatively high temperature resistance such as polyimide material, and can be fabricated in a wide variety of engineered configurations. In a presently preferred embodiment, the haptic portion includes an anchoring strut in an arcuate configuration having an oblique face directed to the center of the optical zone portion. The invention further provides methods for insert molding of haptic portions to optical zone portions of the lens structures without conventional secondary operations such as drilling sites in the optic for insertion and welding of haptics. Accordingly, the unique structures and methods provide haptic portions of an infinite variety of engineered shapes which, together with the optical zone portion, are autoclavable and provide a comfortable fit for the eye. The novel lens structure combination permits a wide variety of haptic portions and optical zone portions to be conveniently assembled, thereby providing a lens structure combination which possesses appropriate haptic configuration and optical characteristics custom-fitted to a patient's individual requirements.

    摘要: A nebulizer device for producing an aerosol spray via a flow of gas at varying oxygen concentrations is disclosed. The nebulizer device comprises a body defining an initial nebulization chamber, a subsequent baffling chamber and a venturi formed therebetween. Air intake ports are disposed on the body adjacent the nebulization chamber for providing the nebulization chamber with air in predetermined quantities. Regulating means are disposed about the nebulization chamber for regulating the flow of the air through the intake ports. An aerosol system for producing an aerosol of fine particles of liquid is located in the nebulization chamber upstream of the venturi such that the flow of the aerosol spray through the venturi encourages the atmospheric fluid to enter the device through the intake ports thereby diluting the aerosol. The venturi is located downstream of the intake ports and increases the flow rate of the atmospheric fluid through the intake ports. The baffling chamber is provided with an outlet for directing the aerosol out of the baffling chamber.

    摘要: A spring-loaded latching mechanism for a peristaltic pump that automatically sets and maintains a desired roller head tension. The spring-loaded latching mechanism includes a pair of counter-rotating latching cams positioned on opposite sides of a pump housing. Each latching cam has an indented or slotted portion for engaging a disposable tubing cassette. The disposable tubing cassette includes a length of flexible tubing supported by a circular race or channel. The latching cams are spring-loaded and, when the disposable tubing cassette is inserted into the pump housing, the latching cams urge the disposable cassette with its length of flexible tubing and circular race against a pump roller head to provide the desired roller head tension.

    摘要: A humidifier for humidifying gas with a liquid has a cavity defined by top, bottom, and side walls. An interior wall is attached to the side wall and defines a first and second cavity within the enclosed cavity. At least a first opening adjacent the bottom wall and at least a second opening adjacent the top wall extend through the interior wall to provide fluid flow communication between the first and second cavities. An enclosed conduit for the introduction of a gas to be humidified is secured to the side wall. The enclosed conduit has a closed end and an opening adjacent the closed end, which opening extends through the side wall of the humidifier adjacent the bottom wall and opens into the first cavity. The opening through the side wall provides for the formation of bubbles of a gas which are introduced into the humidifier through the enclosed conduit. An opening is provided through the top wall of the humidifier for exhausting the humidified gas from the humidifier. A tubular projection extends from the top wall and is in communication with the opening therethrough to provide for exhausting of the humidified gas.

    摘要: A game device is provided which has a high degree of sustained recreational and entertainment value. The game includes a housing fitted with a removable screen. The screen includes indicia which simulate a field of play, for instance a tennis court, hockey field, soccer field or the like. Screens with different fields of play may be interchangeably mounted on the housing. A boom is mounted in the housing for universal movement in a plan substantially parallel to the screen. A signal means is mounted in the universally movable end of the boom for projecting a signal on the screen simulating a play action game piece, for instance, a tennis ball or hockey puck in play on the simulated field. The signal end of the boom is reciprocable with the housing across the screen. Deflectors are movably mounted in the housing for buffeting the signal end of the boom across the screen at random verticals to the reciprocal horizontal. Each deflector is movable along a corresponding end line or goal of the field of play provided on the screen for thereby keeping the game piece in play in a manner corresponding, for instance, to tennis match play or to a hockey match, as observed on the screen. Each cross field buffet of the signal end of the boom by a respective deflector corresponds to a successful return of the game piece and each concomitant misregistration of a deflector and the signal end of the boom corresponds to a missed game piece which may, for instance, conclude a match play point or signify that a goal has been made.
