    摘要: A method for a digest generating apparatus to generate a digest of image content or sound content is provided. The digest generating apparatus obtains an audience rating or an audience count of image content or sound content at established time intervals, and extracts images from the image content or extracts sounds from the sound content. The extracted images or the extracted sounds correspond to a time when the audience rating or the audience count exceeds a threshold. Then, the digest generating apparatus generates a digest by using the extracted images or the extracted sounds. The audience rating or the audience count can be obtained by using audience data corresponding to an audience group having a specific user profile.

    摘要: A data transmission and reception scheme capable of reducing required devices in the data transmission and reception system for an economical advantage, realizing the concurrent data delivery to a plurality of data reception devices, and allowing each one of a plurality of data reception devices to start the data reception at arbitrary timing. In a system for transmitting data from a data transmission device to unspecified many data reception devices that make asynchronous connections, the data transmission device carries out the repetitive transmission by repeating the operations of transmitting a prescribed amount of data to be transmitted by applying a prescribed signal conversion and then pausing the signal conversion processing for a prescribed period of time so as to provide a transmission pause state in the transmission signals which is to be utilized as a reception timing at each data repcetion device. At each data reception device, the transmission pause state in the transmission signals are detected at an arbitrary timing, and the reception of the transmission data is started by using the detected transmission pause state as the reception timing.

When the shooting direction of the portable terminal 3 is turned as indicated by the broken line, the device 1 detects a change in the shooting direction of he portable terminal 3 from a difference between the surrounding video signals generated before and after the turning of the portable terminal, and extracts, from a panorama video signal, a video signal of a partial object 62 turned from the partial object 61 in correspondence to the difference and sends the extracted video signal to the portable terminal 3 to display the image of the video signal.

In the method, the center broadcasts to terminals a call probability and a control ID number which is increased by one for each broadcast. Each terminal calls up the center based on the received probability value, and if calling up, the terminal informs the center of terminal data and the received ID number. The center manages the probability value and the number of received calls for each ID.

The display image is divided into a plurality of subfields, and the inverse colored image is also divided into a plurality of subfields. While displaying the time divisional image on a screen, a light from the screen is transmitted in synchronization with display timing of the display image in a display time of the time divisional image, and the light is cut off in synchronization with display timing of the inverse colored image in the display time of the time divisional image.
