摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an operation panel to preview an image page by page. The image forming apparatus stores a feature of an image of a page previewed on the operation panel and extracts a regularity from the stored feature of the image. When a feature of an image of a page previewed on the operation panel does not agree with the extracted regularity, the image forming apparatus displays a menu for correcting the feature that does not agree.

摘要： An image processing apparatus performs specific processing on images read out of a document having pages as follows. Each of the pages is a member assigned to at least any one of groups. The apparatus determines a second security level of each group based on a first security level of each page of the corresponding group; before the specific processing on the N-th group, determines whether or not password entry is necessary based on the second security level of the N-th group and any of the second security levels of the first group through the (N−1)-th group; and performs the specific processing on the N-th group if it is determined that password entry is unnecessary for the N-th group, or, alternatively, if it is determined that password entry is necessary for the N-th group and if a password is appropriately entered.

摘要： An image forming apparatus comprises: a receiver which receives facsimile or print data file in a page description language, from an information processing apparatus; a spooler which stores the facsimile or print data file received therefrom, on the spooler itself; a converter which converts the facsimile or print data file stored on the spooler, to an image data format; a job generator which generates a job based on the obtained image data file; a facsimile transmitter; a printer; and a job controller which instructs the facsimile transmitter or the printer to perform facsimile transmission or printing according to the generated job, respectively. And the converter selects the facsimile or print data file among those stored on the spooler, based on the state of the printer and the state of the facsimile transmitter, before converting the facsimile or print data file to an image data format.

The image display portion displays a functional image for a longer time when the functional image represents the function extracted by the extraction portion than when the functional image does not represent the function extracted by the extraction portion.

The user operation is performed for the switching or execution of a function, and the operation screens include screens customized by a user. A guidance information providing device includes: an information storage part storing switching information pieces in correspondence with the customized screens; a route generator that generates route information with reference to the stored switching information pieces, the generated route information indicating a display order of customized screens to be sequentially displayed between a current customized screen and a desired customized screen; a controller that selects, from among the stored switching information pieces, a switching information piece indicating switching from the current customized screen to a next customized screen to be displayed according to the display order indicated by the generated route information; a guidance generator that generates guidance information indicating an operation method for the user to switch the current customized screen to the next customized screen; and a communicator that outputs the generated guidance information.
