摘要:
A sheet handling apparatus is provided adjacent to an image forming apparatus. The sheet handling apparatus staples sheets discharged from the image forming apparatus, and it includes a plurality of bins, a stapler, a discharge mechanism, and a stack tray. The sheets are stapled while they are nipped by the discharge mechanism. The bins store the sheets supplied from the image forming apparatus. The stapler staples the sheets stored in the bins. The discharge mechanism discharges the stapled sheets from the bins frontward with respect to the image forming apparatus, where an operator normally stands. The sheet storer is conveyable in both a vertical and a lateral direction. The stack tray is located alongside the front of the image forming apparatus, and stores the sheets discharged by the discharge mechanism.

An electrostatic copying process and apparatus capable of forming copies in at least two different ratios. The formation of a copied image involves exposure scanning of the image of an original document and projecting it on a photosensitive member through an optical device. The change of the ratio of copying is achieved by changing the ratio of projection of the image of the document onto the photosensitive member by the optical device, and also changing the speed of scanning.

The present invention relates to a display for image forming apparatus to enable indication of the number of processing sheets and also indication of impossible paper feeding on the paper feed pass on one display by time-sharing at different times, and particularly concerning the point that indication of disabled paper feeding and indication of the above mentioned number of processing sheets are made alternatively when the indication of disabled paper feeding is given by providing a paper sensing switch in the paper supplying mechanism.

A copying apparatus includes a copy paper cutting device which is operated when an original document or an optical device for exposure reaches a predetermined position. The original document or the optical device is stopped when a trailing edge of a copy paper is detected. After at least the leading edge of the copy paper passes through the copy paper cutting device, the copy paper is fed out entirely from an apparatus frame without operating the copy paper cutting device. This results in that the last copy paper sheet of the roll of copy paper is not shorter than the distance between transport rollers in the copy paper passageway to prevent a copy paper jam.

It is a major object of the present invention to break down and level a heap-up of toner built in the hopper through dropping from the cartridge when feeding toner into the hopper and to prevent toner from leakage from the cartridge due to erroneous operation with a remarkably simple and cheap construction. Namely, the leveling member moves a plurality of number of times in line with engaging and disengaging operation of the cartridge for the hopper and opening and closing operation of the cartridge in the same direction of the shutter, thereby causing a heap-up of toner built in the hopper housing of the hopper to be effectively broken down and leveled. Furthermore, only when the shutter is in its closed status for the cartridge, the cartridge can be removed from the opening of the hopper.
