    Abstract: There is disclosed a device for transferring bulk granular material such as granular fertilizer and dispensing it into containers, bags and the like which comprises a platform, cable attachment means on said platform whereby the platform can be suspended from a surrounding structure, at least one solids lift mounted on the platform with solids inlet means below and solids discharge means above the platform, at least one solids conveying means supported by the platform and operative to convey bulk granular material laterally towards the lower end of the lift means, receiving means for bulk granular material carried by the platform and in communication with the discharge of the solids lift and at least one measuring means carried by the platform and operative to dispense measured masses of a predetermined amount of granular material at selected intervals whereby the granular material can be transferred into packages of uniform amounts. The device is suited for use on bulk cargo transport vessels, particularly ships. The platform is adapted to be lowered into the hold of a ship through the cargo hatch and suspended therein by cables extending to the deck of the ship. The device transfers the particulate, bulk cargo from beneath to above its platform where bagging equipment can be used to package the cargo. The bags of cargo are then placed on a conventional sling or other conveying means for removal from the hold using the ship''s rigging.

    Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for preparing porous sulfur particles by discharging, into a vapor space at substantially atmospheric pressure, water and molten sulfur in intimate admixture to form sulfur droplets having a continuous sulfur phase and a contained water phase, permitting the sulfur droplets to solidify into discrete particles and the water to separate therefrom. This can be accomplished by discharging molten sulfur and water from separate conduits and into intimate admixture in the atmosphere. The sulfur is solidified into porous particles and the momentum of the combined streams is sufficient to convey the sulfur to a desired location on a storage pad. The invention is useful in conveying molten sulfur from tanks of a truck or tankcar to a storate site for further delivery to consumers.

THE INVENTION IS USED IN CONVEYING MOLTEN SULFUR FROM TANKS OF A TRUCK OR TANKER TO A STORAGE SITE FOR FURTHER DELIVER TO CONSUMERS.
