摘要： A method for determining the presence or absence of lymph node metastasis in a breast cancer subject is provided. The method comprises the steps of assaying for expression of genes (or proteins encoded by the genes) ITGB4 and SNAI2 in a sample from the subject, wherein an increased expression of ITGB4 and a decreased expression of SNAI2 compared with the expression of the same genes (or proteins encoded by said genes) in a subject without cancer is indicative of the absence of lymph node metastasis in said subject. or wherein an increased expression of SNAI2 and a decreased expression of ITGB4 compared with the expression of the same genes (or proteins encoded by said genes) in a subject without cancer is indicative of the presence of lymph node metastasis in said subject.
