Abstract: A process of preparing carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) intermediate products is described wherein carbon fiber tows, such >50 K or 100K textile grade carbon fiber tows, are spread and contacted with a sheet of molten polymer resin. Also described is a system for preparing CFRP intermediate products, such as continuous tapes, and the CFRP intermediate products themselves.
