Abstract: Various embodiments for determining fertilizer application for crops based on aerial-based vegetation indices are described. In one example, a method includes determining a relationship between an aerial vegetation index for a crop and tiller density of the crop. The method further includes creating a fertilizer application model for the crop based at least in part on recommended fertilizer application data for the crop and the relationship between the aerial vegetation index and the tiller density of the crop. The recommended fertilizer application data being correlated with the tiller density of the crop.
