Abstract: A carbon dioxide capture structure having a monolithic three-dimensional shape, the structure being porous with interconnected pores which are accessible from an exterior side of the structure. The structure is made of a building material including a first material and a second material. The first material is a sorbent material (e.g. functionalizable for carbon dioxide adsorption). The second material is a binder material including potassium silicate. The present disclosure also relates to a method of making the carbon dioxide structure and a method for removing carbon dioxide from a gas or fluid mixture.
