Abstract: A device may receive a certificate, such as an X.509 certificate, that includes authentication information. The authentication information may uniquely identify a customer equipment. The device may authenticate the customer equipment using the authentication information. The device may obtain configuration information, associated with configuring the customer equipment to receive a service, based on authenticating the customer equipment using the authentication information. The device may provide the configuration information to permit the customer equipment to be configured to receive the service. The device may provide the service to the customer equipment based on authenticating the customer equipment.

Abstract: One or more servers may determine delivery charge information for delivery of a content file to a user device; receive a first set and a second of preferences identifying whether the delivery of the content file can be charged to an account of the user device or to an account of the one or more servers; generate a delivery instruction based on the first set of preferences, the second set of preferences, and the delivery charge information, the delivery instruction identifying a first charge value and a second charge value; receive a request for the content file from the user device; and cause a billing settlement function to be performed to assess the first charge value to the account of the user device or to assess the second charge value to the account of the one or more servers based on delivering the content file to the user device.
