摘要:
An improved optical system for scanning optical codes is disclosed. A laser beam produced thereby is a diverging, nearly diffraction free beam and may be used to produce an elongated scanning spot. A laser assembly which may be used to produce such beams and spots, combines various optical functions in structures which are relatively insensitive to temperature change.

The invention relates to systems and techniques for reading optical codes, and more particularly to code reading systems with plural imaging or scanning modules pointed in various directions toward a target volume, which increase the likelihood that a code symbol on an arbitrarily oriented object in the target volume will be read. Other aspects of the invention relate to use and configuration of hand held readers, docking devices, operator side rails, arched tunnels and mirrors for increasing the coverage of the system, Additional aspects of the invention relate to components associated with point of sale installations or code reading terminals including integrated scales, input pads, system controls and displays.
摘要:
Different aiming light patterns are generated to enable an imaging reader to be pointed directly at a target by employing non-interferometric optical components that are fabricated by molding and machining techniques.

A scanning component in a scanner for electro-optically reading bar code symbols is mounted on a spring having opposite spring end portions between which the scanning component is mounted. The spring end portions are mounted on a holder. At least one clamp, and preferably a pair of clamps detachably clamps the spring end portions on the holder. Each clamp has a fixed clamping portion on the holder, and a detachable clamping portion movable from a clamped position in which a respective spring end portion is sandwiched between a respective detachable clamping portion and a respective fixed clamping portion during reading, and a detached position in which the respective spring end portion is free to be removed from the clamped position.
