Abstract: A lasso handling device (9) for handling lassos of the type comprising an elongated rope (27) having a looped end (28) and a free end, the lasso handling device (9) including an elongated pole (10) having a first rope gripping member (13) at one end for gripping a first enlarged portion of the rope (27) and a second rope gripping member (24) for gripping a second portion of the rope (27) to hold the looped end (28) open to facilitate its location about an object or animal to be lassoed. The rope (27) is releasable from the gripping members (13) and (24) to allow tightening of the lasso around the object or article.
