Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for verifying knitting machine data which has been prepared from a pattern drawing and will be used by an electronically controlled circular knitting machine or by a pin setting machine for setting pins in pattern drums or wheels. The knitting pattern data includes knit and non-knit indications which are stored at memory locations on a suitable memory means such as punched paper tape, magnetic tape, or a magnetic disc or drum Verification is effected by logically examining all of the knit and non-knit instructions for each stitch of each stitchrow of the pattern defined by the knitting pattern data.
