摘要： In order to enable horizontally extending main phase bus bars in metal-enclosed switchgear to be made in standardized unit lengths, it is necessary that the breaker compartment widths be made a constant dimension. This is achieved by keeping the horizontal distance between poles of the breaker units a constant value irrespective of tee current rating of the breakers. The primary disconnect contact system of the removable breaker units is so constructed that the extra conductor cross section required as the current capacity is increased is obtained by changing the vertical dimensions of the current carrying members and keeping the horizontal dimensions substantially constant.

摘要： A circuit breaker comprises a crankshaft, a closing spring connected to the crankshaft and an improved motor-operating structure for driving the crankshaft to charge the closing spring. The motor-operating structure comprises a ratchet wheel mounted on the crankshaft, a reciprocating pawl structure supported to drive the ratchet wheel, and a motor comprising an output shaft and cam means or driving means on the output shaft operable upon each revolution of the output shaft to operate the pawl structure to advance the ratchet wheel to thereby charge the closing spring. The motor is positioned alongside the closing spring with the axis of the output shaft thereof normal to a plane in which the axis of the crankshaft is located.

摘要： An arc-chute of the space-plate type is provide for an air-break circuit breaker in which a molded insulating casing is provided with grooves for supporting the spaced magnetizable conducting plates. The casing has an enlarged lower opening communicating with a laterally disposed restricted opening. Additionally, the insulating casing has flange, or shelf means integrally formed therewith to prevent downward movement or blasting of the arcing gases, which are heated during the arcing interrupting operation. Above the space metallic magnetizable plates are provided a plurality of spaced expansion chambers, which are partitioned from each other by vertically extending solid insulating plate portions interspersed lengthwise of the arc-chute along the upper portion thereof.
