Abstract: An improved mounting structure for a gas discharge lamp employing a ceramic arc tube mounted on a support frame within an outer glass envelope. The arc tube is secured at one end to a lead in conductor and at its other end is connected to the supporting frame in a manner which substantially restricts all lateral movement of the arc tube with respect to the support frame while permitting free axial movement of one end of the arc tube with respect to the support frame.
