    Abstract: A washing machine can have at least one heating element and be configured to perform a cycle of operation. A method of operation of the washing machine can include signaling a relay circuit to switch operation of the at least one heating element. A washing machine and a dryer can each have at least one heating element and be configured to perform a cycle of operation. The washing machine and dryer can be connected to a shared power source. A method of sharing power between the washing machine and the dryer can include allocating power between the washing machine and the dryer.

A lever is operably coupled with the cam and is configured to move the cam along the bracket. A slider is fixedly coupled with the bracket and a magnet is disposed adjacent the engagement edge. A ball bearing that is in magnetic communication with the magnet is configured to be selectively engaged with one of a plurality of retention spaces that are defined by the engagement edge of the cam. A sensor is configured to detect a position of the magnet.

A cam is slidably coupled with the bracket and has an engagement edge positioned at an angle relative to the bracket. A lever is operably coupled with the cam and extends through the slot. The lever is configured to move the cam along the bracket. A slider is fixedly coupled with the bracket. A magnet housing is operably coupled with the slider and is configured to house a magnet. The magnet housing defines a recess. A ball bearing is magnetically coupled with the magnet housing and is positioned within the recess. The ball bearing is configured to be selectively engaged with the engagement edge of the cam. A Hall-effect sensor configured to detect the position of the magnet.

    Abstract: A pair of laundry treating appliances having power sharing capabilities through a piggyback plug with a rear facing electric socket. The rear facing electric socket is designed to receive a power plug from a compatible laundry treating appliance. The piggyback plug is connected to a terminal block of one of the laundry treating appliance wherein the terminal block is adapted to be selectively connected to one of a 120V or 240V electric power source. A controller is adapted with an algorithm to prevent electrical overloading by automatically reducing the electrical power consumed by one of the appliance when simultaneous energization of both appliances occur.
