Abstract: A latch assembly for an appliance includes a cabinet having a front panel with a latch opening. A latch member is aligned with the latch opening of the front panel and is movable between an engaged position and a disengaged position. A door is hingedly coupled to the cabinet between open and closed positions and has a latch receiving aperture. A cover plate is configured to selectively cover the latch opening. The cover plate is rotatably coupled with the cabinet between first and second positions.
