摘要： A sheet receiving sorting device or mailbox has a sheet infeed including a short, pivoted distributor to direct sheets from the infeed, selectively or in sequence, to the input ends of an array of sheet guides extending at angles radiating from the center of the infeed outwardly to the inlet ends of a vertical stack of trays. At the sheet infeed ends of the trays are drive rolls for carrying the sheets into the trays depending upon the positioning of the distributor with respect to the array of sheet guides. The frame structure enables removal of the guides for sheet jam removal.

摘要： A random access sheet receiver has pairs or sets of trays for receiving sheets arranged in vertically spaced relation and extending horizontally in opposite directions from a central sheet path defined by gates and feed rollers and extending vertically between the sheet inlet ends of the trays. Each set of trays may have one or a plurality of trays of selected sheet capacity. A double acting actuator is employed to selectively actuate any gate or deflector randomly to direct sheets in a selected direction into a selected tray.

摘要： A method of enclosing a confidential sheet in an envelope within a document security apparatus includes the step of operating a print engine so as to advance a first enclosure sheet therethrough. The method also includes the step of advancing the first enclosure sheet from an output of the print engine to a first position at a sealing station. The method further includes the step of advancing a second enclosure sheet to a second position at a sealing station. The method moreover includes the step of securing a first portion of the first enclosure sheet to a second portion of the second enclosure sheet at the sealing station so as to create the envelope having an access opening defined therein. The method also includes the step of operating the print engine so as to advance the confidential sheet therethrough. The method still further includes the step of moving the confidential sheet (1) from the output of the print engine, (2) through the access opening, and (3) into the envelope, wherein the securing step is performed prior to the moving step. An apparatus for enclosing a confidential sheet between a first enclosure sheet and a second enclosure sheet is also disclosed.

摘要： A sealing assembly for sealing an envelope having a first lateral side and a second lateral side includes a support roller. The envelope includes (1) a first enclosure sheet having a first pressure sensitive adhesive thereon, and (2) a second enclosure sheet having a second pressure sensitive adhesive thereon. The sealing assembly also includes a sealing member which is movable between the first lateral side and the second lateral side. The first pressure sensitive adhesive is urged into contact with the second pressure sensitive adhesive by interaction between the sealing member and the support roller when the sealing member is moved between the first lateral side and the second lateral side. 摘要： A method of positioning a number of non-transparent enclosure sheets in a document security apparatus includes the step of positioning a first non-transparent enclosure sheet on a first support. The method also includes the step of positioning a second non-transparent enclosure sheet on a second support which is distinct from the first support. The second non-transparent enclosure sheet is oriented relative to the first non-transparent enclosure sheet so as to create a pocket for receiving a confidential sheet when (1) the first non-transparent enclosure sheet is positioned on the first support, and (2) the second non-transparent enclosure sheet is positioned on the second support. The first non-transparent enclosure sheet and the second non-transparent enclosure sheet conceal the confidential sheet from view when the confidential sheet is located in the pocket. A bail system for positioning a number of non-transparent enclosure sheets within a document security apparatus is also disclosed.
