摘要: Changes are managed in a multi-user database application environment. Proposed changes are collected, including changes to data, schema, and/or application descriptions. A user may specify foreign key relationships between items belonging to one or more of these categories. A view is produced showing the impact proposed changes would have on the environment if successfully committed. The user's proposed changes are ordered according to their dependencies, and submitted for committal together in a single transaction, subject to optimistic concurrency and consistency checks. For example, a proposed change to a data value may be inconsistent with a change which removed a data element containing the data value. The commitment operation may return identifiers and other return values, in addition to indicating whether the commitment was successful.

摘要: User experience in a designer tool manages cogeneration of a database application and a database accessible through the application. A user places a visual representation of an application element designed to control a relational or hierarchical dataset. Code is automatically called to add the application element to the application, and automatically invoked to create database schema elements designed to implement the dataset in the database under application element control. Users verify that an application element has been automatically added, and confirm that database schema elements implementing the dataset(s) under control of the application element have been automatically created. A tutorial illustrates a workflow utilizing a designer tool to cogenerate a database application and a database without a data design step. A wizard utilizes the designer tool to cogenerate a database application and a database that collectively implement a calendar, a diagram, a tree, a wiki, and/or a list.

摘要: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for smart gestures for diagram state transitions. Embodiments of the invention expose a set of gestures and behaviors, which permit diagram transitions to be made with a reduced number of (and potentially a single) user gesture(s). For example, zoom levels can be toggled between a working zoom level and a zoom level sufficient to present an entire diagram and vice versa using a single user input gesture. Likewise, diagrams can be appropriately (and automatically) panned to make selected as well as newly created diagram elements visible in their entirety using a single user input gesture.

摘要: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for partitioning modeling platform data. Embodiments of the invention facilitate partitioning modeling platform data into nested horizontal slices. Using nested horizontal slices makes the modeling platform data more manageable and permits modeling platform data to align with existing tools and processes. Schemas and tables can be used to partition modeling platform data vertically and folders can be used to partition modeling platform data horizontally. Thus, a user-interface can preset the intersection of folders and schemas/tables as navigable chunks of data compatible with existing tools and processes, such as, for example, software development tools.

摘要: A query including one or more current search terms is received from a user and executed against a target database. When the query yields a number of results less than a defined search threshold (a.k.a. an “unsuccessful” search), the current search terms are compared with an associations database. The associations database includes associations between search terms in previously-executed queries that yielded less than a threshold number of results and replacement search terms that were substituted to generate a successful query yielding at least the threshold number of results. Upon finding a match between one or more of the search terms and the current search terms, the associations between the search terms and the replacement search terms are used to identify suggested replacement search terms and present them to the user.

摘要: The embodiments disclosed herein extend to methods, systems, and computer program products for error resolution in a computing system that includes a health module. The health module monitors components of the system for runtime errors and provides error resolution templates. The error resolution templates include metadata that specifies actions that may resolve the error and error handlers corresponding to the actions that may correct the error. The system may be extended by the addition and/or modification of the error resolution templates. The error resolution templates may also be used to facilitate the correction of runtime errors in the system.
