Abstract: Described herein is a photoreceptor having a substrate, a charge generating layer, a charge transport layer comprising N,N,N′N′-tetra(4-methylphenyl)-(1,1′-biphenyl)-4,4′-diamine having a purity of from about 95 percent to about 100 percent, and a protective overcoat layer. The N,N,N′N′-tetra(4-methylphenyl)-(1,1′-biphenyl)-4,4′-diamine has been treated by a purification process two or more times.
