    Abstract: A dampening fluid metering system includes an anilox roll configured to meter dampening fluid onto a surface of an imaging member to form a thin, uniform layer of dampening fluid for subsequent imaging by exposure to light radiation. The anilox roll is configured to form a dampening fluid layer that is uniform and has a thickness of 1 micron or less, and preferably a thickness lying in a range of 0.2 to 1 micron.
