    Abstract: User identification information is received through a user interface device. A processor device supplies the user identification information through an input/output device to an external computerized device to receive, in response, external authorization to use features of an apparatus. The user interface device outputs a menu having options to create a local account based on the external authorization and, in response, receives instructions to create a local account using the processor device. The local account is created based on the instructions being received using the processor device. The local account is stored in a memory device. After creation of the local account, the processor device generates local authorization to use the features of the apparatus based on the user identification information matching information in the local account stored in the memory device, without contacting the external computerized device for the external authorization.

    Abstract: An enterprise owned multi-function device (MFD) is disclosed. For example, the MFD includes, a communication interface to establish a communication session with an authentication server, a re-activation timer, a processor and a non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions, which when executed by the processor, cause the processor to authenticate the enterprise owned MFD over the communication session when the enterprise owned MFD is activated at a remote location of an employee, create a local account of the employee for local authentication, and authorize access to the employee via the local account of the employee until the re-activation timer expires.

    Abstract: A method of automatically creating trust communities in a fleet of devices. The method includes finding candidate devices in a fleet of devices via one or more candidate discovery techniques and generating device-related data based on the candidate devices that are found, analyzing the device-related data via an analytics engine and creating one or more fleet orchestrator device lists based on the analysis of the device-related data, and automatically creating one or more new trust communities or suggesting joining one or more previously existing trust communities based at least on the one or more fleet orchestrator device lists for the candidate devices, wherein the one or more new trust communities or previously existing trust communities include at least a sub-set of the devices in the fleet, and wherein at least one of the managed devices in the sub-set of devices is configured as a root device to publish files via a file sharing function.

    Abstract: To troubleshoot an error, a printer uses a job ticket and printer-independent document data to perform a job, such as printing a document. The job ticket includes instructions for hardware component settings of the printer. In response to a capture bug command, the printer will capture, from a group of hardware configuration sensors, real-time values of the settings for the print device hardware components while the print device implements performs the job. The printer will save the captured real-time values of the settings, the job ticket, and the printer-independent document data to a merged file, and it will transmit the merged file to a maintenance service.
