摘要： A portable terminal with a hinge apparatus is provided. The portable terminal includes a hinge apparatus which pivotally couples a pair of housings together. The hinge apparatus provides a first hinge axis and a second hinge axis which are perpendicular to each other. The hinge apparatus includes a first hinge shaft coupled to the first housing along the first hinge axis, a second hinge shaft coupled to the second hinge housing along the second hinge axis and rotating about the first hinge axis and the second hinge axis, a stopper slot formed on an outer circumferential surface of the first hinge shaft along the first hinge axis, a stopper groove formed on the second hinge shaft along a circumference thereof and encompassing a part of the outer circumferential surface of the first hinge shaft, and a stopper rib formed within the stopper groove and selectively engaging with the stopper slot. Thus, when one of the housings is rotated about one of the hinge axes, the housing is restricted from rotating about the other hinge axis.

摘要： A sliding module for a portable terminal is interposed between first and second housings of the portable terminal so as to connect the second housing to the first housing. The sliding module allows the second housing to movably slide on the first housing, and includes a first sliding member, a second sliding member, a first stopper means, and a second stopper means. The first sliding member is assembled with the first housing so as to slide on the first housing to allow the second housing to slidably move to an upper side or a lower side of the first housing in a first direction. The second sliding member is fixed to the second housing and assembled with the first sliding member so as to slide on the first housing to allow the second housing to slidably move to the left or right side of the first housing in a second direction. The first stopper means is disposed between the first and second housings and restricts the sliding movement of the second housing in the second direction when the second housing moves to the upper or lower side of the first housing. The second stopper means is disposed between the first and second housing and restricts the sliding movement of the second housing in the first direction when the second housing moves to the left or right side of the first housing.

摘要： A hinge device for a portable terminal that includes a first housing and a second housing is provided. The first and second housings are connected by a hinge device at one end of the first housing, and they rotate so that the front and back faces may be reversed. The hinge device includes a first hinge base combined with one side of an end portion of the first housing, a second hinge base combined with one side of an end portion of the second housing and rotating in opposition to the first hinge base, and an elastic member providing an elastic force in a direction that the first hinge base and the second hinge base are adhered closely to each other. The hinge device facilitates a user's viewing of video, such as DMB video, and contributes to the diversification of the design of the portable terminal.

摘要： A sliding-type portable terminal is provided. The sliding-type portable terminal includes a first housing and a second housing. The second housing faces the first housing and can slide relative to the first housing. The sliding-type portable terminal also includes a pair of link members coupled with the first housing and the second housing. The link members rotate relative to one of the first and second housings. Also provided is a first guide opening formed on the other housing wherein one end of the link members is engaged with the first guide opening so as to move along the first guide opening as the second housing slides. In the sliding-type portable terminal, a pair of housings can be rotatably coupled with each other by means of the link members so as to sufficiently secure a greater range of sliding, and thus a space for mounting an input device, such as a keypad, or the like, is increased.
