Abstract:
An apparatus for distinguishing living body fingerprint from artificial fingerprint and a method thereof are provided. A living body recognition unit determines whether fingerprint in question is living body fingerprint or not, based on the unique color of the living body fingerprint and a change of the fingerprint color which is caused due to a change of contact pressure when the living body fingerprint is contacted with the fingerprint input window. A fingerprint recognition apparatus computes color information from the fingerprint image acquired by the color image sensor, and color change information based on the change of contact pressure, and determines whether the fingerprint in question is the living body fingerprint by determining whether or not the computed color information meets a reference color range and/or if the color change information meets a reference condition.
Abstract:
A fingerprint recognition apparatus and a method thereof of acquiring fingerprint data are provided. The fingerprint recognition apparatus acquires a user's fingerprint image through a fingerprint sensor, extracts information regarding a fingerprint size, a fingerprint position, a degree of fingerprint contact and a condition of minutiae points, and displays a corresponding error message and guide information through a display unit to encourage a reinput of fingerprint, if determining that the extracted information is not within a predetermined range. As a result, the user is encouraged to input a best quality fingerprint to allow extraction of good print data for either fingerprint enrollment or authentication. The information provided to the user may practically include detailed error and guide information regarding the fingerprint size, a degree with which a fingerprint is pushed to a certain side, a degree of contact or humidity of a fingerprint.
Abstract:
Provided is an optical fingerprint acquisition apparatus. The fingerprint acquisition apparatus has an improved optical lens unit and can correct distortion of an image caused by a light refractor. The optical lens unit includes two cylindrical lenses disposed so that an optical axis of incident light does not coincide with a central axis of the lenses. The optical lens unit corrects an image that is distorted into a rectangle by a light refractor, thereby restoring a square shape. In particular, the fingerprint acquisition apparatus is useful in the simultaneous acquisition of multiple fingerprints as well as the acquisition of a single fingerprint.
