Abstract: An article comprising a plurality of layers or in form of powder or slurry, the layers comprising: one or more nonwoven layers (16) of powder or slurry; wherein each of the one or more nonwoven layers or powder or slurry has a temperature resistance of about 800° C. or greater; and wherein the article is adapted to provide thermal insulation for an exhaust pipe. The layer is between an inner wall (14) and outer wall (12) of a double-wall exhaust pipe (10).
