Abstract: A method for displaying messages of a communication system includes: exchanging, via the communication system, messages between a control unit to be tested and a test environment; creating, receiving and processing, by at least one processing unit of the test environment, messages for the message exchange with the control unit to be tested as well as for command processing by a viewer of the at least one processing unit; displaying, by a display device of the test environment, all received messages in a first display element in a first view; checking, by the viewer, each received message in accordance with a filter instruction; and in response to the check being positive for a respective message, additionally displaying, in a second display element in a second view, the respective message.

Abstract: A method in which the propagation times of a target network are simulated in an actual network, wherein the topology of the target network includes a number of senders and a number of receivers, and wherein the topology of the actual network includes one or more of the senders and receivers. A path between a first sender and a first receiver in the topology of the actual network differs from the path between the first sender and the first receiver in the topology of the target network, wherein in the actual network at least one first message of the first sender is received through a first network interface by a gateway having at least two network interfaces, is delayed by a delay, and is sent through a second network interface on a path to the first receiver.

Abstract: A method and replay unit for sending secured messages via a messaging system to a receiver ECU to be tested, wherein the replay unit is connected to the device under test via the messaging system, wherein the replay unit is set up to receive first secured messages to be replayed, to remove from the first secured messages a first counter value and a first authenticator, and to generate a second authenticator by means of a second counter value, an encryption algorithm and a key, and wherein the replay unit is set up to generate second secured messages by adding the second counter value and the second authenticator to the first messages, and wherein the replay unit is further adapted to send the second secured messages to the recipient device under test via the messaging system.
