Abstract:
A handle assembly for a portable gas cylinder includes a first handle portion, a second handle portion and first and second locking members. The first handle portion includes an ergonomically configured upstanding gripping handle and a semi-circular shroud portion configured to couple to a first section of an upper portion of a portable gas cylinder. The second handle portion includes an ergonomically configured upstanding gripping handle and a semi-circular shroud portion configured to couple to a second section of the upper portion of the portable gas cylinder. First and second locking members are configured to selectively locking the first and second handle portions to one another about a periphery of the upper portion of the portable gas cylinder.
Abstract:
A tank with an angled indicator assembly is disclosed. A flexible membrane may be connected to an inner wall of a shell of the tank and separates a tank cavity into a first chamber sealed to contain a pressurized gas and a second chamber sealed to contain a pressurized fluid. The tank may include an indicator assembly that includes a coupling connected to an exterior of the shell. A sight cap with a transparent viewing window can operably connect to coupling. The coupling and the sight cap define an internal viewing pocket in fluid communication with the first chamber of the tank cavity. The coupling may connect to the shell at an angle defined by the angle of a longitudinal axis of the coupling relative to a longitudinal axis of the tank.
Abstract:
Provided is a portable cylinder including a tank having a mounting collar coupled to an upper portion of the tank, and a handle assembly attached to the mounting collar. The mounting collar has an upwardly extending portion and a plurality of circumferentially spaced tabs extending radially outwardly from the upwardly extending portion, wherein a respective gap is formed between adjacent ones of the plurality of circumferentially spaced tabs. The handle assembly includes a handle having a shroud portion and a handle portion extending from the shroud portion, and an attachment member configured to be coupled to the shroud portion to prevent rotational movement of the handle relative to the collar, the attachment member having a body, a first projection projecting from a front wall of the body for engaging the shroud portion, and a second projection projecting from a back wall of the body for engaging the shroud portion.
Abstract:
A commercial hybrid tank includes a metal liner with an upper wall and a lower wall. The upper wall and the lower wall define a cavity therebetween. A weld joint joins the upper and lower walls together. A fiber winding layer is wrapped around an outer surface of the metal liner. A method for manufacturing a commercial hybrid tank includes overlapping surfaces of an upper wall and a lower wall to form a metal liner defining a cavity. The method includes joining the surface of the upper wall and the surface of the lower wall together by welding to form a weld joint between the upper wall and the lower wall. The method includes wrapping the metal liner with a fiber winding layer around an outer surface of the metal liner to form a hybrid tank.
Abstract:
A vessel includes a body having an interior surface that defines an interior space. The vessel further includes a flexible membrane located within the interior space of the vessel. The interior space includes a first chamber at least partially defined by the flexible membrane, and a second chamber at least partially defined by the flexible membrane and a portion of the interior surface of the body. The vessel includes a pressure relief device configured to vent contents of the second chamber to an exterior of the body when the second chamber reaches a first predefined pressure. The flexible membrane is configured to tear or puncture when the first chamber reaches a second predefined pressure that is less than or equal to the first predefined pressure to prevent dangerously high pressures within the first chamber.
Abstract:
Provided is a tank including a polymeric upper dome having a neck with a through passage, a polymeric lower dome having a neck with a through passage, a polymeric shell having a first end connected to the upper dome and a second end connected to the lower dome, and a connection attached to each of the upper and lower domes in the through passages of the necks, wherein the upper dome, lower dome, and shell form a cavity.
