    摘要: A portable lightweight folding parabolic reflector antenna for reception of microwave signals includes an axial waveguide tube which constitutes the main structural supporting member of the antenna, a ten- to fifteen-foot diameter dish mounted to the waveguide and a sub-reflector supported at the forward end of the waveguide. A low noise amplifier may be mounted to the rear end of the waveguide for amplification of the received signals. The folding dish includes a single sheet of resiliently elastic reflecting mesh supported by a radial framework of normally straight resiliently flexible spokes of tapering cross section. The spokes are pivotable by a lever system between a folded axial position and a deployed radial position. The normally straight spokes are stressed upon deployment by a perimeter cable to the desired parabolic or spherical curvature and the elastic mesh is stretched over the convex side of the radial framework by the perimeter cable, so that the mesh assumes the curvature of the radial spokes to present a dished parabolic reflecting surface towards the subreflector.

    摘要: Signal degradation is minimized in an electronic polarizer of the type having a circular input waveguide, rectangular output waveguide and an intermediate electromagnetic coil. A ferrite core is contained between impedance matching transformers within a small diameter intermediate waveguide section and air gaps are minimized by ferro-magnetic washers pressed onto the intermediate waveguide to hold the transformers in close contact with the ferrite core ends. The washers also support the electromagnetic coil coaxially within the cylindrical input waveguide, enhance the efficiency of the coil and define the transition walls between the small intermediate waveguide and the larger input and output waveguides.

    摘要: Video noise reduction is achieved by limiting the loop response bandwidth in a phase locked loop demodulator with a high-pass RC network connected between two oppositely phased video signals in the phase detector for out-phasing a high frequency component of the loop response bandwidth. Easy user adjustment allows viewable video images to be obtained from very noisy signals in deep fringe reception areas.

The folding dish includes a pre-formed dished reflector of pliable material supported by a radial framework of normally straight resiliently flexible spokes of tapering cross section. The spokes are pivotable by a lever system between a folded axial position and a deployed radial position. The normally straight spokes are stressed upon deployment by a perimeter cable to a curvature of the pliable dish such that the spokes and the dish are curved independently of one another and operate to correct deviations in the desired curvature of each other to thereby obtain a precisely repeatable dish curvature through many folding-unfolding cycles. A method of assembly of the folding reflector is disclosed as well as alternate embodiments of lightweight curved reflectors.
