    摘要: A gasket resistant to vibration and noise generation is interposed between a cylinder head and an exhaust manifold of an engine. The gasket includes a gasket main body interposed between a cylinder head and an exhaust manifold of an engine, a base plate affixed to the gasket main body and having a heat shielding portion integral with a base portion and extending to a side of the exhaust manifold, and a reinforcement plate fixed to the heat shielding portion, in which the reinforcement plate is not present at a region of the base portion in contact with the gasket main body, and a reinforcement rib is formed at the region of the base portion in contact with the reinforcement plate and a region of the heat shielding portion in contact with the reinforcement. The base portion is provided with a projected portion projected into a path of introducing secondary air from a side wall of the cylinder head to an exhaust port.

    摘要: This metal gasket has firmly secured to the intermediate plate through the mounting metal plates the seal members for sealing stepped portions that occur between the cylinder block and the chain case. The metal gasket comprises elastic metal plates formed with notched portions opening to the chain passage opening and an intermediate plate formed with sealing slots, mounting holes and positioning holes. The seal members are installed in the sealing slots of the intermediate plate to seal the stepped portions between the main seal portion and the sub-seal portions. The mounting metal plates attached to the seal members are provided with engagement portions. The engagement portions are folded to hold the edges of the mounting holes to secure the mounting metal plates to the intermediate plate and position the seal members in the sealing slots. Alternatively, the intermediate plates are formed with slots in which to install the seal members, and the elastic metal plates and the intermediate plates are formed with notched portions in areas where the seal members are located. The metal plates securely attached to the seal members are folded to hold the mounting portions of the intermediate plates.

    摘要: The metallic gasket consists of a first elastic metallic plate having beads and folded portions and a second elastic metallic plate having beads, laminated on each other. The folded portions are formed by bending the plate alone the circumferences of cylinder bore holes, and the beads are formed on the portions of the plate spaced from the circumferences of the cylinder bore holes at a predetermined distance in the radially outward direction thereof, whereby double annular seal portions are formed. The projecting portions of the beads on the second elastic metallic plate are fitted in or brought into contact with the recessed portions or projecting portions of the beads on the first elastic metallic plate. The spring constant of the gasket becomes equal to the sum of those of the two plates, and this enables the stress carried by the plates to be lessened, and the durability of the gasket to be improved. It is also possible to reduce the width of the parts of the beads which are between the cylinder bore holes and use such a gasket suitably for an engine in which the distance between cylinder bores is small.

    摘要: This invention provides a metal gasket and its production method which prevents damage to folded portions by fold-machining and damage to metal materials after fastening, and expands the range of selection of materials for elastic metal plates, by reducing the thickness of a predetermined region of a elastic metal plate at which folded portions are to be formed. The thickness of the folded portion of the elastic metal plate is reduced from the folding side in an inner region of folded base portions and in regions in which folded free ends are positioned. Bend-machining is made gently at the folded base portions subjected to fold-bend machining, and the folded base portions each have a gap there-inside. The folded free ends do not come into contact with the elastic metal plate due to recessed surfaces. Accordingly, cracks and wrinkles do not occur at the folded base portions, and the folded free ends do not leave friction traces on the elastic metal plate.

    摘要: This invention discloses the method of manufacturing metallic gaskets which are properly prestressed by a load which is determined according to a stress calculation. In the process of applying prestresses to the gaskets, a die formed to a thickness smaller than the thickness of the metallic gasket material--which has a bead portion and is coated with resin such as a fluoroelastomer--is placed close to and surrounding the outer circumference of the metallic gasket material or inside the holes formed in the metallic gasket material. Then, the tension side of the bead portion of the metallic gasket material is prestressed by a stress greater than a specified stress that will occur when the metallic gasket is used.

    摘要: This metal gasket comprises a pair of beaded metal plates formed of elastic metal plates having beads extending along the circumferences of bore holes, and adapted to seal bore seal portions, and one outer circumferential metal plate formed of an elastic metal plate adapted to seal outer circumferential seal portions other than the bore seal portions. The beaded metal plates and outer circumferential metal plate have different sealing performance, and are adapted to seal the bore seal portions and outer circumferential seal portions respectively, these two types of metal plates being formed out of different materials, whereby the gasket manufacturing cost is reduced. A pair of beaded metal plates are provided with beads extending along the circumferences of the bore holes with the projecting portions thereof opposed to each other. Since the thickness of the single outer circumferential metal plate is set larger than that of each of the beaded metal plate and smaller than a total thickness of the two beaded metal plates, the surface pressure of the bore hole-surrounding regions can be set high.

    摘要: A metal gasket in which a thin metal plate for reinforcing the beads of an elastic metal plate is laminated on bead regions only of the elastic metal plate, whereby a stable sealing performance is secured for a long period of time. This metal gasket comprises a thin metal plate provided with beads extending around the circumferences of parallel arranged combustion chamber holes, and an elastic metal plate having combustion chamber holes and extending with a predetermined width and laminated on the portions of the thin metal plate which are around the combustion chamber holes so as to be opposed to valley portions of the beads. The thickness of the thin metal plate is set smaller than that of the elastic metal plate. The thin metal plate is fixed to the elastic metal plate with locking portions formed at the outer circumference of the former engaged with slits formed in the regions of the latter which are on the outer sides of the beads, the thin metal plate being combined with the elastic metal plate at joint portions thereof by spot welding or laser welding.

    摘要: In this metal gasket, the beads formed on an intermediate plate prevent a full compression of bead plates and improve the sealability of the gasket. This metal gasket comprises first and second bead plates having main beads extending along the circumferences of holes, and an intermediate plate interposed between the first and second bead plates. The intermediate plate is provided in the regions thereof which are between the holes and the main bead-contacting portions thereof with beads opposed to the first bead plate, and these beads form compensating portions for the first bead plate. The second bead plate is provided with auxiliary beads having projecting portions engageable with the recessed portions of the beads on the intermediate plate. The compensating portions mentioned above prevent a full compression of the beads on the bead plates when the metal gasket is tightened, and offset the irregularity of the opposed surfaces of a cylinder head and a cylinder block. The auxiliary beads improve the sealability of the second bead plate with respect to the compensating portion-carrying intermediate plate.
